Our Philosophy

Care built the way children learn best

We borrow from Montessori principles to make every visit feel like a place your child wants to explore, not one they're dragged into.

A Prepared, Calm Space

Soft colors, low noise, and everything sized for small hands and shorter attention spans.

Child-Led Visits

Kids get to touch the tools, ask questions, and set the pace — with plenty of "show, tell, do" before anything happens.

Real Answers for Parents

No jargon. We explain what we see, why it matters, and what you can do at home in plain language.

Growing Independence

We teach kids to care for their own teeth, building habits and confidence that last well past graduation from our office.

What We Offer

Services for every stage of growing up

From your baby's very first tooth to teenage orthodontic screenings, our team covers the full journey.

Well-Child Checkups & Cleanings

Gentle routine exams and cleanings, twice a year — including extra-oral and intraoral screenings, a TMJ (jaw joint) evaluation, and a sleep apnea / airway screening, covering the things parents are asking about most these days.

First Tooth, First Visit

Infant oral exams starting around age one, so we can guide teething, feeding, and early habits together.

Dental Sealants

A thin protective coating on molars that dramatically lowers the risk of cavities in tricky-to-brush spots. Traditional and fluoride-free sealant options are both available.

Gentle by design
  • BPA-free materials
  • Mercury-free — no amalgam
  • Latex-free environment
  • Fluoride-free option available

Minimal Intervention Dentistry

For early, incipient lesions, we offer needle-free options like silver diamine fluoride (SDF) and Curodont, which can arrest or even remineralize a cavity before it needs a filling.

Space Maintainers

Small custom appliances that hold room for adult teeth after an early baby tooth loss.

Fluoride & Xylitol Treatments

Quick, painless topical fluoride to strengthen enamel, plus xylitol treatments that help reduce cavity-causing bacteria — a great option for cavity-prone smiles.

Cavity Treatment & Fillings

Tooth-colored fillings placed with a soft touch, plus plenty of encouragement along the way.

Gentle by design
  • BPA-free composite material
  • Mercury-free — no amalgam
  • Latex-free environment
  • No harsh chemical cleaners near your child

Minimally Invasive Dentistry

Wherever possible, we use state-of-the-art technology and techniques to catch problems early and treat only what's necessary — helping your child keep as much of their natural, healthy tooth structure as we can.

Dental Crowns

Durable stainless steel crowns, tooth-colored Bioflx crowns, and natural-looking zirconia crowns to protect teeth with extensive decay or after a root canal.

Extractions

From simple removals of a wiggly baby tooth to surgical extractions for teeth that need a little extra help, we handle both with a gentle touch and clear aftercare guidance.

Digital Dentistry & X-Rays

Low-radiation digital X-rays, intraoral scanners for comfortable, impression-free images, and digital treatment planning — state-of-the-art technology that makes visits faster, more precise, and easier for kids to understand.

Invisalign

For growing smiles and teens, Invisalign First and Invisalign clear aligners gently guide teeth and jaw development or straighten a smile — without the brackets and wires of traditional braces.

Behavior Management & Sedation

Your child's safety is our top priority. Every sedation option is tailored to the child and, for general anesthesia, administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist — alongside nitrous oxide for gentle analgesia and protective stabilization when a child needs a little extra help staying safe and still.

Laser Dentistry

Soft-tissue and hard-tissue lasers let us treat many things gently, often with less bleeding, less discomfort, and faster healing than traditional tools.

  • Frenectomies (tongue-tie & lip-tie release)
  • Soft-tissue lesions, ulcers & canker sores
  • Gum contouring & excess tissue removal
  • Exposing erupting teeth
  • Cavity & decay removal in select cases
  • Pulpotomies (baby root canals)
  • Teething-pain relief

My son used to cry before every dental appointment. Here, he asks to bring his sister along. The staff let him hold the mirror and explain everything first.

American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry guidelines

Everything we recommend is grounded in guidance from the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry — the same guidelines we find ourselves explaining to parents at almost every visit, from first-birthday checkups to when to wean off a pacifier.

Good to Know

Frequently asked questions

The things most parents ask us before that very first appointment.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a first visit by your child's first birthday, or within six months of their first tooth appearing — whichever comes first. Early visits help us guide teething, feeding, and brushing habits before problems start.
Most children do well with a checkup and cleaning every six months. Kids with a higher risk of cavities or specific dental concerns may benefit from more frequent visits, which we'll discuss together at each appointment.
Yes. Topical fluoride treatments use a small, carefully measured amount applied directly to the teeth, and are considered safe and effective by pediatric dental and medical associations for strengthening enamel and preventing decay.
Absolutely. We offer xylitol treatments to help reduce cavity-causing bacteria, fluoride-free dental sealants, and minimal intervention options like SDF and Curodont for early lesions. Let us know your preference and we'll tailor a fluoride-free prevention plan for your child.
This is exactly what our approach is built for. We use "show, tell, do" so kids know what to expect before anything touches their mouth, offer optional comfort items and nitrous oxide for anxious visits, and never rush a child who needs a moment.
We participate with many dental insurance plans. Give our office a call with your plan details and we'll confirm your coverage and any out-of-pocket costs before your visit.
Call our office right away — we're reachable 24/7 for true emergencies like knocked-out or chipped teeth, sudden pain, and swelling. Keep any knocked-out tooth moist in milk or saliva and bring your child in as soon as possible.
Brush twice daily for two minutes. Under age 3, use just a rice-grain-sized smear of fluoride toothpaste. From about 3 to 6 years old, move up to a pea-sized amount. Once your child can reliably spit — usually around 6 to 7 — a thin ribbon along the bristles, about the width of a straw, is appropriate, similar to an adult amount. We're happy to demonstrate proper technique at any visit.
Nursing bottle caries happens when a baby's teeth are exposed to sugary liquids — milk, formula, or juice — for long stretches, often from falling asleep with a bottle at naptime or bedtime. Those sugars feed bacteria that attack the enamel, and because it usually starts on the upper front teeth, it can progress quickly. The fix is simple: avoid bottles at bedtime, and wipe or brush teeth after the last feeding of the day.
Most children can start moving off the bottle around 12 months and should be fully weaned by 18 months, since prolonged bottle use is linked to cavities and bite changes. Pacifier use is fine through infancy, but we recommend weaning by age 2 to 3, and definitely by age 4, before it affects the roof of the mouth or how teeth come in. Thumb- and finger-sucking follow the same timeline: harmless early on, but worth stopping by age 4, before permanent front teeth start coming in, since it can push teeth out of alignment. Breaking these habits on time protects your child's palate, bite, and speech development — we're glad to help with gentle strategies if any of them are proving hard to break.
Teething usually starts around 6 months and can bring drooling, mild irritability, and swollen gums. A chilled (not frozen) teething ring or a clean, cool washcloth to chew on can help, along with gently massaging the gums with a clean finger. Teething doesn't usually cause a high fever or real illness — if your child seems very unwell, it's worth a call to their pediatrician rather than assuming it's just teeth.
Yes. We use digital X-rays, which use significantly less radiation than older film X-rays, plus a lead apron for extra protection. They're only taken when needed to see between teeth or below the gumline, and the exposure is comparable to what your child gets from natural background radiation over a day or two.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first evaluation by age 7, even while baby teeth are still around. At that age we can catch issues like crowding, crossbites, or jaw growth problems early, when interceptive treatment tends to be simpler — though most kids won't need braces until later, if at all.
Floss once teeth touch, limit sugary snacks and drinks between meals, and stick to a consistent morning-and-night brushing routine. We're always happy to demonstrate technique in person and send you home with an age-appropriate care plan.
